Parenting Classes
Unless otherwise noted, parenting meetings are held at Alma Midwifery Center on 1st Thursday evenings from 7-9pm. All parenting meetings are free of charge, and there is no need to register ahead of time. Hope to see you there!

Childbirth education classes:
We host a variety of different childbirth education classes at Alma, including Birthing From Within and A Yoga Way to Birth. Call for current information.
Breastfeeding Classes
Michele-Zimmerman-Pike, CNM, teaches a free breastfeeding class at 7pm every 4th Thursday of the month.
New Parent's Circle
Thursdays 10am-12pm.
This is a meeting time for pregnant women and new parents to meet. Although we love toddlers, Alma is not set up for a playgroup. Let us know if we can help you find one in your area.
Prenatal Yoga with Amy Armstrong at Alma Midwifery
We are sad to announce that Amy will no longer be teaching yoga at Alma. We will miss her! Alma is currently hosting prenatal Kundalini Yoga with Surinder on Saturdays from 10am - 11:30am. We will be hosting new prenatal and mom & baby yoga classes as well as bellydancing classes soon.
Naturopathic Care
Meredith Distante, ND offers holistic care for the whole family, specializing in well-woman care and pediatrics. Meredith periodically teaches a vaccination class at Alma to help families learn to make informed choices about current vaccinations. She can be reached at 503.313.0509
Alma Wish List
Thank you to all who have responded to our Wish list! We have received two I-pods and two I-homes so far: Thanks to three generous clients and one apprentice who donated those items! We would appreciate one more set, so we have one for each of our three birth suites. Also on the list are items we seem to always need: newborn cotton baby hats (new preferred) and dopplers.

Alma is also the host of other workshops and birth-related gatherings such as the Oregon Midwifery Council peer review meetings, doula trainings and craniosacral workshops. We are honored to be a part of the wonderful birth community here in the Portland area!
